Cherub Choir - Preschoolers

These children meet from 9:45-10:15 AM in the library on the 2nd floor. This music time each week is designed to complement their Sunday School lessons, which are taught by Church School volunteers during the 10:30 worship service. The children learn Bible songs and work on finding their voices in praise of God. The curriculum is drawn primarily from Musikgarten materials, and includes singing, creative movement, focused listening, and exploring instruments.

Young Musicians Choir, Part I - Grades K-2

This group meets from approximately 10:50-11:40 AM in the library on the 2nd floor. Children in the YMC I also use movement and instrument exploration, and add basic music notation to their repertoire. They begin to learn more explicitly about worship, and their role as choristers in leading worship services. This group participates in worship several times during the year.

Note that this rehearsal time is concurrent with Children's Church, which gives young children an alternative to the formal 10:30 worship service -- but does not conflict with the more structured Sunday School time, which is from 9:15-10:15 AM each Sunday, off Wagner Hall on the 3rd floor. Children in this age group attend the beginning of the 10:30 worship service, and then may be dismissed to either YMC I or Children's Church following Children's Moments.

Young Musicians Choir - Grades 3-6

This group rehearses from 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM in the library. This choir participates in worship once a month, and focuses on continuing their journey as disciples of Jesus as they develop their abilities to praise God and lead worship. More detailed attention is given to vocal development and musical literacy, with introduction of part singing.
